Stillwater on the Deerfield River

If I drive the back
way past the apple
orchard, through the S
curve under the train
trestle then over
the bridge, when I reach
the T stop, my heart
unfolds like a map
and guides me home.

David Ram lives on his pension in western Massachusetts, where he practices poetry writing and dory rowing: his recent publications appear in Naugatuck River Review and Grand Little Things; his rowboat appears regularly on Nashawannuck Pond.
