The Dowry
out in the yard
in view of the rose
who resides, like a verb
in a vice –
a dowry of dandelions
waits to wear wishes
Emalisa Rose is a poet, macrame artist and animal rescue volunteer. She lives by a beach town, which provides much of the inspiration for her art. She works as a lunch lady in a NY public school. Her current passion is birding,which she hopes to weave into her art.
