Moving

We’re moving. As are the electronic billboards, flashing outside our one-room apartment. As are my son’s eyes, trying to consume the constant feed of excitement.

I just packed his ADHD medicine.

Living in the city was my childhood dream.

The reality lit up our faces; no stars were there. It brushed against our shoulders and never said hello.

The house we bought is three hours north of here. It sits on a steep, green hill. The sun will rise on our patio every morning. Snow will fall and cover our yard quietly.
