I remember the day I stopped wanting anything. Well actually, it just happened earlier today. The 8th of May. A Sunday. Mother’s Day. The birthday of Robert Johnson, the legendary blues guitarist who sold his soul to the Devil to be the best. I remember wanting things almost that much.






Dawn Corrigan believes cards are a metaphor for what’s ailing us. Like how the King is always higher than the Queen. Plus she’s outgunned, when you factor in the Jacks. Most of us are number cards, shuffling in and out of others’ lives. Luckiest are the deuces, unpredictable and wild.
